Payments to CASC & Meet Entries

UPDATED - please take a moment to read, especially if you are just starting in competitions. All CASC entries must go to the CASC Race Secretary not the hosting club. One meet per email only.

CASC only accepts entries by email for all meets EXCEPT for Swimming NSW and Swimming Australia events.  The process for Swimming NSW and Swimming Australia meets will be published before each meet.

CASC will also only accept payments by direct debit (either at a bank branch or electronic funds transfer via internet banking) or cheque payable to CASC, which are far more secure, easier to keep track of and mean less work for the Treasurer (and hopefully you, the parent).

Break Times and Qualifying Times

Everyone must ensure their swimmer meets any qualifying or break times for the meet.  More information about qualifying times and break times is in the Club Handbook

We are unable to provide refunds for entries which are rejected because they do not meet break / qualifying times or because a swimmer withdraws from an event or the entire Meet. Entry fees are sent to the organising Club with the Meet entries and are not refunded, to CASC, by Clubs conducting the Meets.

This is how it will work:

  • Entry details must be emailed to Paul Naco, the CASC Race Secretary by the advertised CASC closing date (usually one week before the closing date on the flyer).  DO NOT email your entry to the hosting club as it will not be accepted.  All entries must to sent to the CASC Race Secretary for checking.
    • One meet per email please.
    • Use the electronic meet entry card on the front page of the CASC websiteNO HARD COPY CARD IS NECESSARY.
  • Each meet will be given a code which will be published on the front page of the website (under Meet Entries Closing Soon), eg, for the Speedo Sprints it will be SPEEDO.  This code must be used for all direct debits, either via internet banking or at a bank.
  • For direct debits (preferred method), please make sure you fill in the reference field with the swimmer's family name and then the meet code, eg, METCALFE SPEEDO.  Most banks allow 18 characters in the reference field but if you run out of room leave off the last letters of the meet code.  Your family name is the most important for tracking payments.
    • The CASC bank account details are:  Canberra Amateur Swimming Club Inc BSB: 062 900 Account No.: 0080 5364 (Commonwealth Bank).
    • If you save CASC as a payee for internet banking you only have to enter these details once.
  • Payment for the entry fees is to be deposited into the CASC account (preferred) or a cheque (payable to CASC not the hosting club) placed in the CASC box on pool deck within two days of the CASC closing date.  For example, if the CASC closing date is on a Friday the money needs to be in the CASC account or the pool deck box by Monday.

Important Notes:

  • If you have outstanding meet entries fees payable from earlier meets your entry will not be submitted until the outstanding fees are paid.
  • The meet entry report will be published on the CASC website.  Please check there to see if your swimmer has been entered in the meet and in the correct events.
  • If you enter a meet you must pay the meet entry fees even if you do not swim as CASC is obliged to pay the hosting club once the entry is submitted.

Thanks.
