ACT Long Distance Meet - 16 November 2008.

On 16 November 2008, 16 CASC swimmers competed at this meet with an overall PB rate of 75%.  It was great to see so many CASC swimmers trying out the longer distances, especially those who were trying events for the first time.

Congratulations to Tasman Calver and Ashleigh Cockburn who both posted 6+ second PBs in 200 free and Nicholas Starkey for a 13+ second PB in the same event.  Also, congratulations to James Gibson for a 15+ second PB in 200 fly.

Telopea Open Water Meet - 17 November 2008.

The following day, 4 CASC boys braved the waters of Lake Burley Griffin to compete in the 5km swim, 2 of whom also competed at the Long Distance Meet.  Well done to James Gibson, Oliver Bourne, Tom Bingley and Declan MooreOliver finished first out of the CASC boys, coming 6th overall in a time of 1:14:09.57 with Declan and James finishing 8th and 9th and within 2 seconds of each other.  Well done also to Tom who finished 11th.

Congratulations to all the boys for competing in (and finishing!) their first open water swim.

Narooma Meet - 16 and 17 November 2008

While the CASC boys were battling the reeds and mud in Lake Burley Griffin, 4 CASC swimmers (Tyler Allen Ashley Groch, Aaron Martin and Kara Martin) were enjoying a weekend away at the south coast.  Congratulations to Tyler for a silver medal in 100 back and bronze medal in 200 back and Kara Martin for 3 out of 5 PBs.
